A recent trip to Philadelphia to visit some dear friends- Erich, Blaine and Jed- who kindly hosted Asher and I for a (my last) summer trip (which we usually take in July, around our anniversary) before school starts for me and touring begins for Easter Island. Wild times ahead! But this little getaway was a treat- such good, honest fun. Food, laughs, drinks, art, walking tours, rain, movies, coffee, and so many other goodies.
One of my favorite parts of the trip was being able to visit the Barnes Collection- home to the most post-Impressionist art collected by one man, Albert C. Barnes. He was BFFs with John Dewey, my personal pragmatic hero, which completely shaped his way of teaching about and viewing art. What a perfect end to a summer and completing graduate school! MAED down, 1st year of teaching to go. I cannot wait.
