1. my new role: teacher.

It’s time to hunker down and get to work- my life as a student is slowly ending (as I am revising my master’s thesis and counting the days to graduation) and my role of teacher is fastly approaching. These two roles, as they overlap and intertwine, seem so natural to me as an avid learner, creator, and artist and I simply cannot wait to take this enthusiasm into the classroom with all sorts of personalities. I look forward to the daily happenings in the art classroom that I will soon call one of my homes, one of my places of development and artmaking, one that I have already grown to love once (when in high school) and one that I can’t wait to embrace yet again.

John Steinbeck said it best when he stated:

“I have come to believe that a great teacher is a great artist and that there are as few as there are any other great artists. Teaching might even be the greatest of the arts since the medium is the human mind and spirit.”
